Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about searching for housing, posting listings, accounts, and safety.

Students & renters

How do I find rentals near my campus?

Use Search and filter by campus, distance, price, bedrooms, and availability. Each campus portal shows listings closest to that school.

Are listings verified?

Most listings are posted by owners or managers. We review for obvious issues, but you must verify details yourself-tour the unit, confirm ownership, and read the lease. See Scam & Fraud Guidance.

Do I need an account to contact a landlord?

Yes, creating a free account lets you message landlords, save favorites, and manage applications across our network of portals.

Can I trust photos and maps?

Photos are uploaded by the poster and may vary in quality. Always confirm the address on a map and compare the exterior during a live video or in-person tour.

What if a landlord asks for a deposit before I visit?

Don't send funds before a signed lease and a verified viewing. Avoid gift cards, crypto, or wire transfers to unknown parties.

Landlords & property managers

How do I post a listing?

Go to Landlords, create an account, and follow the steps to add photos, description, rent, and availability. Listings are free for the initial period; upgrades increase visibility.

What is the free period and what are the upgrade options?

New listings typically include an initial free period (e.g., 30 days). You can purchase Featured or Premium placement to reach more students. Exact pricing may vary by campus and season.

Can I list multiple units or buildings?

Yes. You can add multiple listings to your account, duplicate a prior listing, and refresh availability dates as needed.

How do I edit or pause my listing?

Sign in, open your dashboard, and choose Edit or Pause. Pausing removes it from search while preserving your content.

Do you screen tenants?

We provide the marketplace. Screening and lease agreements are your responsibility and must comply with local laws.

Accounts & support

I forgot my password-now what?

Use the password reset link on the sign-in page. If the reset email doesn't arrive, check spam or contact support.

Does my account work across different campus portals?

Yes-our portals are connected. Your login works across the network, though some features and pricing may vary by campus.

How do I report a suspicious listing or user?

Use the “Report” option on the listing or reach out via Contact with screenshots and links. See Scam & Fraud Guidance for what to include.

Policies & safety

Are listings endorsed by the university?

No. Listings are for convenience and are not endorsed by the university or the site operator. See the full Disclaimer.

Is the site accessible?

We aim to meet common accessibility practices (keyboard navigation, color contrast, alt text). If you encounter barriers, contact support.

Where can I learn about tenant rights?

Tenant rights vary by jurisdiction. Consult your local government resources or a licensed attorney for legal advice.
